Dixie Class Destroyer Tender Reunion

Here are some details and tentative plans for our 2019 reunion.  We will be staying at the Crowne Plaza Dayton hotel located at 33 E 5th St, Dayton, OH, 45402.  The reunion arrival date is Monday, September 23, 2019, and departure is Friday, September 27, 2019.  We would encourage you to book your hotel room early to help facilitate planning; the deadline for all reservations is August 15, 2019.  You may make your reservation after December 1, 2018 by calling the hotel directly at (937)-229-9835 or (800)-689-5586 and ask for the Dixie Class Destroyer Tender Reunion room block.  The rate per night is $131.66 tax included which includes a hot breakfast buffet each day.  You may submit your registration online on the Sierra website and then make your payment anytime before the registration deadline. If you are spending additional time in the Dayton area, the hotel rates can apply three days pre and/or three days post the reunion subject to availability.   The hotel has free parking and a complimentary airport shuttle.    

Your registration fee of $85.00 per person includes:  refreshments and snacks in the hospitality rooms the duration of the reunion, dinner at The Spaghetti Warehouse on Wednesday and admission to the banquet on Thursday night with your entree choice of Rosemary Lemon Chicken or Roasted Pork Loin. 

The tour package includes both tours and costs $45.00 per person.  The first tour is to Carillion Historical Park with lunch at the Carillion Brewing Company on Tuesday and the second tour is to the US Air Force Museum on Wednesday.  There is additional tour information on the Sierra website under the 2019 Tour information tab. Since the tour options are fairly close to where we are staying, the bus or buses will be shuttling all day long to and from the hotel and the tour location.

We will be holding all of our drawings during the Thursday night banquet.  Tickets will be available for purchase during the reunion in the hospitality rooms until 1700 Thursday night.  Tickets will not be sold during the banquet.

All registrations for the Dayton reunion must be mailed to the Treasurer of the USS Sierra prior to August 15, 2019.   We will be unable to accommodate anyone who fails to register.   Please make all checks payable to the USS Sierra Veterans Association and mail to;
